Justin and Slava

Justin and Slava are both musicians. Justin plays trumpet and Slava plays violin. They both are currently members of the New World Symphony in Miami Beach, Florida. Slava has won a job with the Alabama Symphony. So it looks as if they will be moving to Birmingham, AL after the Christmas holiday. Justin recently auditioned with the Los Angeles Symphony and has advanced to the next round of auditions to be held in December. This time they will be flying him out for the audition. Things tend to get a little expensive when you have to fly all over the country to go job hunting. Justin and Slava were married in August here in Irmo, SC. The wedding went off beautifully and we are very happy to have Slava as the newest member of our family.
November 18, 2005: Slava was awesome in Portland. In three days of auditions she advanced to the final round. There were four violinists including Slava. Unfortunately they did not end up picking Slava for the job. But she was very happy that she advanced so far. At this point it looks like Birmingham will be where they will be going at the first of the year. We'll see how Justin does in Los Angeles. I've changed the photo album to a slide show format. When you click on the pictures the large picture will change to the one you have clicked on. Also if the little arrows are grey there are more pictures in that direction.
